Member Out-Reach & Care Committee (MORCC)

This committee is responsible for serving families or individuals in special circumstances of need.  They keep abreast of the skills, talents, and interests of the church community to serve in various ways.  They may provide visitation to the homebound or in nursing homes.  They provide a prayer chain and the mailing of greeting cards.  They encourage people to uphold their membership vows by friendly phoning, visitation, or suitable activities.  They determine the needs and plan for small groups for support or spiritual development.

Member Out-Reach & Care Committee continues to show visitors and members alike a friendly, welcoming atmosphere when they enter our church doors and to their welfare after they have joined our Church family.  We offer our help and service when the need arises.

Some of our Missions are:

Greeting visitors, newcomers and prospective members of our church. We select, train and schedule greeters who make people feel welcome as they come through our church doors each Sunday morning. We provide Welcome Packets in the pews for visitors, which now includes a child safety information sheet.  We maintain the pew racks with Special Offering envelopes.  We will provide meals when a family member is sick and not able to do their own cooking.  We will provide a luncheon for a member s family and their friends after a funeral and we are grateful that we can help families in their time of sorrow.  We maintain an active Prayer Chain, using either the phone or e-mail.  We send out many cards to members who are ill or those who just need a friendly hello.   We take pictures of members and newcomers to post on our Getting to Know You Picture Board, which is a great way to learn newcomer s names.  We are responsible for the Prayer Quilt Ministry.   We make name badges and put them on the badge boards for distribution on Name Badge Sunday once a month.  We are working on getting a Church Website established, up, and running.  We have started a Phone Partners list for shut-ins.

We meet at 2:00 p.m. in the Collis Room on either the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of every other month.  The next meeting date is decided at our meeting.  Our meetings last approximately one hour.  Everyone is invited to visit any and all of our meetings.  We welcome new members at any time.

Any and all suggestions as to how we can be of more service to our Church Family would be greatly welcomed by The Member Out-Reach & Care Committee.
